Vodafone is all set to release Ice Cream Sandwich update on Samsung Galaxy S2 from today. Currently, this update is available via Kies desktop software.
Vodafone was to roll out this update on 12th April, but it was pushed back to today due to delay by Samsung. As per Vodafone, it will still waiting approval from maker because of conducting internal quality assurance process.
UK network also confirmed that ICS update would be available via Kies desktop software. But, the owners of Samsung Galaxy S2, who are not interesting in using the Kies software or microUSB cable, they will have to wait for three days more. OTA (over-the-air) version of Ice Cream Sandwich would be launched on Tuesday, April 17.
Vodafone told to its keen subscribers, “Unfortunately Samsung have told us this morning that they are unable to make the update available to you as planned. The new plan from Samsung is that the update will be available via KIES tomorrow, 13th April, and via Over The Air update on Tuesday 17th April. If this moves at all, we’ll of course let you know. I know a lot of you, like us, will be disappointed at this last minute change of plan and we continue to challenge Samsung to make this available to you as quickly as possible.”
Prior to Vodafone, Three and O2 have already released the ICS updates to Galaxy S2 before the March end. Now, Galaxy S2 owners who are the members of Orange and T-Mobile clubs are sure to feel a bit irritated to get this much-anticipated update.
